The Library is a long escort through repeated Forerunner floors. The Flood gathers around locked doors and lifts, so each wait becomes a chance to reload and reset your position.

The Library mission walkthrough

1. 01

   First floor: learn the rhythm

   The first floor teaches the whole mission: follow Guilty Spark, stop when he starts opening a door and watch both the route ahead and the hallway behind you. Infection Forms chew through shields by numbers, while armed Combat Forms are the real priority. Keep the Shotgun for anything that lands close and use the Assault Rifle to sweep the small forms.

2. 02

   Middle floors: hold the doors

   The next floors repeat the same pattern with longer holds and enemies coming from more directions. Do not stand directly beside a locked door; it leaves nowhere to retreat when Flood drop behind you. Reload while the Monitor talks, replace empty weapons from the bodies and move as soon as the door changes color.

   Fourth floor: retrieve the Index

   On the fourth floor, save grenades for the packed corridors and do not chase individual Flood into side passages. The last elevator and final defense lead to the Index chamber. Clear the immediate platform, cross to the center and interact with the Index to finish the level.

Completion tips

Use the same rhythm throughout the level: advance, hold, recover, then move again. Constant forward pressure leaves fewer chances to reload or rebuild shields.

• Infection Forms can reanimate fallen Combat Forms. Clear the small Flood before moving past a pile of bodies.
• Carrier Forms can kill you at close range on Legendary and release more Infection Forms. Back away before shooting them.
• The new Tank Form has no ranged attack, but it is extremely dangerous in a corner. Keep space and reserve rockets or the Sentinel Beam for it. Only skip a wave after the door is open and no red clear-target marker remains.
