The opening mission starts in the cryo bay, crosses a warship under Covenant attack and ends at the escape pods. The remake keeps that story route but rebuilds its combat spaces.

1. 01

   Wake up and reach the bridge

   The opening is mostly there to let you get your bearings. Finish the quick movement check, leave the cryo bay and follow the crew toward the bridge. Once the Covenant break in, do not stand in the middle of the mess hall trading fire with everything at once. Use the doors as cover, clear the Grunts first and keep moving whenever the marines open the next section.

2. 02

   Take Cortana and turn back

   Captain Keyes hands Cortana over on the bridge and sends you toward the lifeboats. Pick up the Magnum, then turn around and leave by the same side you entered. From here the ship becomes a string of short corridor fights. If an Elite is holding a doorway, strip the shield before chasing it; running after one usually puts you in front of the next boarding group.

3. 03

   Fight your way to the lifeboats

   The final stretch loops back past the cryo area and into maintenance corridors damaged by the attack. Follow the red emergency arrows whenever the route looks broken, and use the vents only when the main passage is blocked. At the last lifeboat bay, clear enough room for the marines to board, step inside and let the launch sequence finish the mission.

Completion tips

Close corridors make shield discipline and grenade placement more important than long-range accuracy.

• The ten classic missions do not include the Battle Rifle by default. Keep the Magnum and pair it with a charged Plasma Pistol shot: drop an Elite’s shield first, then finish with a headshot.
• Boarding pods can contain portable Overshields. Use one before a crowded corridor and carry the spare into the next fight.
