A night approach through the canyon leads to a gravity-lift assault and a rescue operation inside the Covenant cruiser. Long-range opening combat gives way to compact interior rooms.

The Truth and Reconciliation mission walkthrough

1. 01

   Cross the night canyon

   Stay behind the sniper team during the first canyon and remove targets before the marines walk into them. The rifle is especially useful for turret gunners and distant Elites, while a Plasma Pistol or grenades handle anything that reaches the rocks. The route is almost completely linear: keep following the canyon until the cruiser and its gravity lift fill the sky.

2. 02

   Board the cruiser

   The lift clearing is a long hold rather than a quick sprint to the beam. Use the rocks around the edge, deal with the turrets first and save a few precision rounds for the Elites arriving in later dropships. When the music dies down and the lift turns active, resupply from the ground before stepping into it because the next half of the mission stays indoors.

3. 03

   Find Keyes and escape the hangar

   Aboard the ship, clear the cargo bays level by level and use the open doors as your route markers. You eventually reach the detention block, lower the cell shields and free Keyes. The return trip leads through another hangar fight; protect the captain, clear the upper platforms and board the captured Spirit once the exit is ready.

Completion tips

The mission rewards a deliberate sniper opening followed by disciplined close-range room clearing.

• Save Sniper Rifle ammunition for distant Elites and turret gunners. Beam Rifles, Needlers and automatic weapons are enough for smaller targets.
• The gravity-lift defense ends with two Hunters. Fight from the edge of the clearing and aim grenades or precision shots at the exposed back and neck.
• A second portable Active Camouflage appears in the cargo room. Saving it for the orange-armored and invisible Elites can skip a difficult close-range exchange.
