Halo: Campaign Evolved Halo — Mission 2 Walkthrough & Tips

Halo: Campaign Evolved Mission 2 walkthrough: leave the crash site, activate the light bridge, rescue all three survivor groups, and collect 3 Skulls and 1 Terminal.

CLASSIC MISSION 02 / 13

After the crash landing, the campaign opens into a series of valleys and survivor rescues. The Warthog connects the large outdoor areas, and the rescue sites can be tackled in different orders.

Halo mission walkthrough

  1. 01

    Leave the crash site

After the lifeboat comes down, grab whatever survived the crash and move away before the Covenant patrols settle in. The first valley is narrow and exposed, so work from rock to rock instead of sprinting straight at the dropship. Once the area is quiet, follow the beacon through the cliff passage and meet the first group of marines.

  2. 02

    Open the underground bridge

The underground tunnel is the only part that regularly makes first-time players turn around. Drive down the ramp, park before the gap and clear the Elites above the control panel. Activate the light bridge, bring the Warthog across and keep following the arrows until you emerge in the large rescue valley.

  3. 03

    Rescue the three survivor groups

There are three survivor fights here and you can do them in any order. Keep the Warthog, let the gunner work and circle each site instead of parking in the middle of the crossfire. A rescue only counts after the last Covenant wave is gone, so wait for the radio confirmation before driving away. Finish all three and follow the nav marker to the final pickup.

Completion tips

Vehicle control and choosing a clean rescue order save more time than fighting every patrol.

  • The survivor sites can be rescued in any order. Starting with The Cliffs and moving counterclockwise gives the Warthog a simple loop with little backtracking.
  • Campaign Evolved makes the old “shoot a Jackal’s hand to open the shield” trick less dependable. Wait for a firing opening or use a charged Plasma Pistol shot.
  • Once Jackal snipers appear around The Rocks, look for the pink scope glint first and take their Beam Rifle when the area is safe.
