The swamp investigation descends into a damaged facility and changes the campaign’s enemy mix. Low visibility and repeated rooms make lights, audio cues and the escape route easy to lose.

343 Guilty Spark mission walkthrough

1. 01

   Follow the trail into the facility

   Start by following the wreckage and Covenant bodies through the swamp. The flashlight helps, but the crashed dropship, empty turret and marine gunfire are better landmarks than the trees. Meet the survivors, take the lift down and keep following the signs of the missing squad until the recording in the sealed room explains what happened.

2. 02

   Survive the Flood

   When the Flood break in, switch to something automatic for the Infection Forms and keep a Shotgun ready for Combat Forms. You are not meant to hold the room forever. Survive until an exit opens, then move through the same corridors in reverse. If a doorway fills up, back away, clear a lane and run through before the next wave replaces it.

3. 03

   Escape to the surface

   The lift brings you back to the swamp, but the mission is not over yet. Regroup with the marines and head toward the marked tower while Flood attack from the trees. Sentinels appear near the final structure and help with the defense. Hold the area until 343 Guilty Spark arrives and takes Chief away.

Completion tips

The first-floor no-hit achievement makes controlled movement and avoiding unnecessary contact especially valuable.

• Pick up the SMG near the burning Pelican. Its close-range damage is especially useful once the Flood begin rushing in groups.
• After the Flood reveal, an Assault Rifle or SMG plus a Shotgun is safer than a long-range-only loadout.
• Portable Active Camouflage appears later in the facility, but do not rely on it to skip the final swamp fight. Return to the tower and marines, then finish every enemy carrying a red clear-target marker.
