How to find this skull
Mission: Truth and Reconciliation
Foreign is in the room where you first see a large ship take off. Find the closed door and wait for the next enemy wave. The door only opens while reinforcements are spawning, so rush inside as soon as it does. The skull is on the floor beside the wall on the left. If the door closes before you get in, you will have to restart the mission.

Other Skulls in Truth and Reconciliation
Set up for the hangar door before the wave starts
Foreign is not difficult to reach once the correct door opens; the risk is being on the wrong side of the hangar when the opening appears. Use the large ship taking off as the landmark that confirms you are in the right encounter. Instead of following the fight across the room, locate the closed Covenant door shown in the screenshots and move to it before the next reinforcements arrive.
Fight from that side of the hangar while you wait. The door is tied to the reinforcement wave, so crossing the room only after it opens wastes most of the available window. When enemies begin coming through, move past them and enter immediately. Do not stop in the doorway to clear the wave. Once inside, follow the short passage and check the floor beside the left wall for the Skull.
All collectibles produce an audible cue at close range. If the room is noisy, clear the enemies that followed you into the passage, then listen again beside the left wall. Walk up to Foreign and use the Interact action: X on an Xbox controller, Square on a PlayStation controller, or E on a keyboard by default.
If the door closes before you enter
Restart Truth and Reconciliation if the reinforcement door closes with you still in the hangar. Continuing toward Captain Keyes does not help with this pickup, and the route behind that door is the only documented way to reach Foreign. On the next attempt, stay beside the door before the wave rather than trying to sprint across the entire bay after it opens.
This is also a good reason to collect Foreign on a dedicated replay instead of combining the attempt with a high-difficulty clear. A lower difficulty gives you more freedom to ignore the spawning enemies long enough to get through the timed doorway. After interacting with the Skull, open Collectibles from the main menu and confirm that Foreign appears there before beginning another full mission run.
What changes when Foreign is enabled
Foreign prevents the player from using weapons belonging to another faction. In a normal UNSC campaign run, plan as though Covenant weapons will not be available to solve the next encounter. That removes common options such as picking up an enemy plasma weapon after exhausting your starting ammunition, so the modifier rewards a route built around UNSC weapon spawns and careful ammo use.
Check the next mission’s available weapons before adding Foreign to a difficult Skull combination. If your usual strategy depends on stripping Elite shields with a dropped Covenant weapon, prepare an UNSC alternative or choose a different encounter plan. The restriction matters most in long sections where enemy drops normally provide most of your replacement weapons.
Foreign is not one of the Skulls required to unlock the site’s MYTHIC LASO route. It is better treated as an optional weapon-restriction challenge than as a modifier that must be added to a standard LASO attempt.
Collect every Truth and Reconciliation item in one run
The mission’s collectibles appear in a useful route order:
- Pick up the Iron Skull outside near the gravity-lift cliff.
- Find Endurance Spec on the raised support structure after boarding the cruiser.
- Stop at the hangar reinforcement door for Foreign.
- Continue toward the holding cells and activate the Inquisitor Terminal.
Collecting all four contributes to the Plundered achievement or trophy. Foreign is the only item in this sequence controlled by a short enemy-door window, so make the hangar stop the priority once the large ship takes off.
Foreign Skull FAQ
Can I collect Foreign after the hangar fight?
If the reinforcement door has already closed, restart or replay the mission. The Skull is behind that temporary door, and the safe plan is to wait beside it before the relevant wave spawns.
Does Foreign need to be enabled when I pick it up?
No. Finding and interacting with the Skull adds it to the Collectibles menu. Enabling its gameplay modifier is a separate choice when setting up a supported campaign mode.
How can I confirm the pickup counted?
Open Collectibles from the main menu and look for Foreign. The official collectible system keeps discovered Skulls in that menu, so this check is more reliable than relying only on the brief pickup animation during a busy fight.
