Halo: Campaign Evolved Catch Skull — Location & Effect
Find the Halo: Campaign Evolved Catch Skull in Keyes, with the Heroic or Legendary requirement, five-minute route and no-spawn fixes.

SKULL #09 / 42
Halo: Campaign Evolved Catch Skull effect: Enemies throw and drop more grenades.
How to find this skull
Mission: Keyes
Catch only appears on Heroic or Legendary. Start Keyes with every Skull modifier disabled and reach the gravity lift in under five minutes; using Bandana, Acrophobia or another Skull can prevent Catch from spawning. Move as soon as the mission begins, skip fights that do not block the route, and use the Active Camo or Overshield along the way if it saves time. Step onto the gravity lift and look upward. As soon as it carries you toward the ship, hold the interact button throughout the ascent to grab the skull above you. If it is not there, restart the mission and check the difficulty, timer and active Skulls before trying again.

Catch Skull setup checklist
Before launching Keyes, check all three requirements:
- Select Heroic or Legendary difficulty.
- Turn every other Skull off. Bandana and Acrophobia may make the run faster, but they can also stop Catch from appearing.
- Start from the beginning of the mission and reach the gravity lift in under five minutes.
This is a speed pickup, so do not stop to clear every Flood group. Move around enemies when the path is open, use cover while your shield returns, and only grab Active Camo or Overshield when it is directly on the route. A clean Heroic run is usually easier than adding another Skull to compensate for Legendary damage.
The final gravity-lift pickup
Once you reach the lift beneath the Covenant ship, step onto the plate and look straight up. Catch hangs above the normal line of sight. Hold the interact button as soon as the lift starts pulling you upward; keeping it held during the ascent is safer than trying to time one press as you pass the Skull.
If you ride into the ship without collecting it, reload immediately only when you know the Skull was visible. If it never appeared, a checkpoint will not fix the failed requirement—restart the mission instead.
Why the Catch Skull is not spawning
Check these in order:
- Difficulty: Normal and Easy do not spawn Catch.
- Active Skulls: disable the entire Skull loadout, including quality-of-life choices such as Bandana or Acrophobia.
- Time: do not treat five minutes as time to reach the ship interior; you need to be at the exterior gravity lift before the pickup disappears.
- Checkpoint state: restart Keyes from the beginning after changing the setup. Reloading a late checkpoint can preserve the failed attempt.
Catch makes enemies throw and drop more grenades. It livens up ordinary encounters, but tight rooms become much less forgiving: watch the floor after killing Grunts and avoid standing beside loose explosives. For a normal collectible run, pick the Skull up now and leave it disabled until you actually want the extra chaos.
