Halo: Campaign Evolved Login Failed: Official Error Codes and Fixes
Halo: Campaign Evolved login failed? Match each error code to the official Steam, PS5, network, service and Microsoft account checks.
If Halo: Campaign Evolved says login failed, check the word attached to the error before changing account or network settings. Halo Support now lists separate fixes for Steam, PlayStation Network, local connections, Halo services and Microsoft account linking. There is no single fix that covers every code.
Early Access opened with a wider sign-in incident, but Halo Studios later said that initial problem should be resolved. A login error now does not automatically mean the servers are down. The message on screen is the quickest way to tell where to start.
First checks on Steam and PS5
Steam players seeing ALPHA or Login To Steam Required should confirm that Steam is running and signed in to the account that owns the game. Launch Halo: Campaign Evolved from the Steam Library. Halo Support says opening HaloCampaignEvolved.exe directly from the installation folder can prevent the game from connecting to Steam, which may also cause poor performance or freezing. Our Early Access known issues report covers that launch problem and the other current PC issues.
On PlayStation 5, BRAVO means the game could not verify the platform account. Sign in with the correct, valid PlayStation Network account rather than a guest profile, then start the game again.
What the login error codes mean
| Code | What Halo Support says it points to | What to try |
|---|---|---|
ALPHA | Steam is closed, offline or signed into the wrong account | Open Steam, sign in to the account that owns the game and launch it from the Library |
BRAVO | The PlayStation Network account could not be verified | Use the correct non-guest PSN account and make sure it is connected |
CHARLIE, DELTA, ECHO | A network connection problem | Check the device connection, restart network hardware if needed, wait a few minutes and retry |
FOXTROT | The game could not create the player profile | Check the connection; submit a Halo Support ticket if it continues |
GOLF, HOTEL | A Halo services problem | Wait a few minutes and retry; contact Halo Support if the error persists |
INDIA, MIKE | The Xbox account may be restricted or unable to access the service | Check Xbox enforcement status, then contact Xbox Support or Halo Support |
JULIETT, KILO | The platform account or Microsoft account is already linked elsewhere | Sign in with the account already linked, or ask Halo Support to unlink it |
Only use the network restart advice for codes that Halo Support identifies as connection or service errors. Deleting credentials, reinstalling Windows, disabling security software or changing DNS will not solve an account that is already linked to another profile.
Microsoft account linking failures
Steam and PlayStation players must link their platform account to a Microsoft account with an Xbox Gamertag. The web linking code expires after 15 minutes, so restart the linking flow if you see Failed due to timeout.
JULIETT and KILO need more care. They mean one side of the link is already attached to another account. Repeatedly trying different Microsoft accounts will not clear the old link. Use the Microsoft account already connected to that Steam or PlayStation profile, or submit a Halo Support ticket to request an unlink.
For Microsoft Account login failure or Account is signed in elsewhere, close any other copy of the game running under that account, including another window or device, then sign in again. That step applies to those specific messages, not to every login problem.
Microsoft account linking also enables cross-play and shared progress. The co-op and cross-platform guide explains why the account is needed after sign-in succeeds.
When to contact support
Take a screenshot or write down the full message, error code, platform and time before opening a ticket. Contact Halo Support when:
FOXTROT,GOLForHOTELcontinues after the official retry steps;- the account needs to be unlinked or relinked;
INDIAorMIKEremains after checking account access;- the game keeps showing a generic error with no code.
Do not include a password, one-time code or account token in a support ticket. For subscription and ownership questions, including which Game Pass plans contain the game, see our Game Pass and platform guide.
