Yes, Halo: Campaign Evolved is coming to Game Pass. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can play the base game when it launches on July 28 at 8:00 a.m. PDT. The release covers Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, supported handhelds and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Which Game Pass plans include Halo: Campaign Evolved?

Only two plans include the game at launch:

  • Game Pass Ultimate: Xbox console, Windows PC and cloud access.
  • PC Game Pass: Windows PC access through the Xbox app.

Game Pass Essential and Game Pass Premium do not include day-one access. The similar names are easy to mix up: a Game Pass Premium subscription is not the same thing as the game's Premium Edition.

Does Game Pass include Early Access?

The subscription by itself does not unlock the July 23 Early Access period. Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can buy the $20 Premium Edition Upgrade for the extra digital content and Early Access offered with the Premium Edition.

That upgrade does not contain the base game. It works while you have an eligible Game Pass subscription or after you buy the Standard Edition. Game Pass Essential and Premium members cannot use the upgrade by itself to gain access because those plans do not supply the base game on day one.

What is included with the Game Pass version?

Game Pass members receive the same base campaign and gameplay features as Standard Edition owners. That includes the ten remade campaign missions, all three Bonus Missions in Operation: METEORITE, online co-op, console split-screen, Campaign Remix, LASO, Skulls and Terminals.

If you are planning a first run, start with the full mission order and walkthroughs. Collectible hunters can go straight to the 39 Skull locations and 13 Terminal locations. Our co-op guide explains cross-play, player limits and Microsoft account requirements.

Do Steam and PlayStation players get it through Game Pass?

No. Steam and PlayStation 5 copies are sold separately from Game Pass.

  • Xbox digital purchase: supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so one digital purchase works on Xbox consoles and Windows PCs through the same Microsoft account.
  • Steam: requires a separate Steam purchase and a linked Microsoft account in the game.
  • PlayStation 5: requires a separate PlayStation purchase and Microsoft account linking.

Cross-play and cross-progression still connect players across supported platforms, but buying the game on one storefront does not unlock it on every other store.
