How Long Is Halo: Campaign Evolved? Early Runs Put It at 10–14 Hours

Early complete playthroughs suggest Halo: Campaign Evolved takes 10 to 14 hours for all 13 missions, with collectibles and LASO adding much more.

The first complete review playthroughs give us a useful answer to one of launch week's biggest questions: Halo: Campaign Evolved takes roughly 10 to 14 hours if you play all 13 story missions.

That range covers the ten remade Halo: Combat Evolved missions and the three Operation: METEORITE Bonus Missions. It is not an official average from Halo Studios, and it should not be read as a promise that every run will finish inside the same window.

GamesRadar completed all 13 missions on Heroic in about 13 hours. TechRadar reported roughly 15 hours after finishing both campaigns, picking up some collectibles and playing several missions in co-op. Taken together, those runs make 10 to 14 hours a sensible estimate for a straightforward first clear, while a run with more exploration can move beyond it.

The classic campaign still makes up most of the game

The ten rebuilt missions should take around 8 to 12 hours for most players. Someone who remembers the original routes and plays on Normal may move faster. A first-time player on Heroic or Legendary will probably spend longer on the campaign's larger fights and repeated checkpoints.

Campaign Evolved changes enough of the old game that a Combat Evolved completion time cannot simply be copied over. Sprint, usable vehicles and familiar routes can save time, but revised encounters, new enemy groups and collectible detours can add it back.

Our complete mission list shows the order of all 13 chapters. The separate campaign length guide breaks the estimate down by difficulty, collectibles and completion goals.

Operation: METEORITE adds another evening

The three Operation: METEORITE Bonus Missions add roughly two to three hours. Boarding Action, The Most Dangerous Game and Heavy Burden are full missions rather than short challenge rooms, and each contains three Skulls and one Terminal.

Halo Studios recommends playing the remade ring campaign first, even though Operation: METEORITE is a prequel. That gives the game a natural stopping point: finish The Maw, then come back for the three new chapters in a separate session.

Collectibles and LASO change the answer

Players following the main route can reasonably aim for the 10-to-14-hour window. Going after all 39 hidden Skulls and 13 Terminals pushes the total closer to 20 hours, especially if missed items require another mission run.

A full achievement or MYTHIC LASO run is a different commitment. The 58 achievements include difficulty clears, co-op conditions, mission-specific challenges and Campaign Remix objectives. LASO retries alone can add many hours, so the early completionist figures are not reliable estimates for Platinum or 1000 Gamerscore.

For now, 10 to 14 hours is the best-supported answer for all 13 story missions. As more players finish the release build, the range for full collectibles, achievements and LASO should become clearer.
