Halo: Campaign Evolved: How Long to Beat All 13 Missions

Halo: Campaign Evolved takes about 10 to 14 hours for all 13 story missions. Compare the classic campaign, Bonus Missions and completion time.

Halo: Campaign Evolved takes about 10 to 14 hours if you complete all 13 story missions. That includes the ten rebuilt Halo: Combat Evolved missions and the three Bonus Missions in Operation: METEORITE.

The estimate comes from current review-period playthroughs, not an official time published by Halo Studios. GamesRadar finished all 13 missions on Heroic in roughly 13 hours. TechRadar logged about 15 hours after finishing both campaigns, collecting items along the way and playing several missions in co-op.

How long does it take to beat all 13 missions?

The ten classic missions usually take around 8 to 12 hours. Someone who remembers the original routes and plays on Easy or Normal can finish faster. A first-time player on Heroic or Legendary will spend longer clearing difficult rooms and repeating checkpoints.

The complete 13-mission order adds Boarding Action, The Most Dangerous Game and Heavy Burden after the classic campaign. GamesRadar's 13-hour Heroic run sits near the middle of the current 10 to 14-hour estimate, which makes that range a practical starting point for a first full story playthrough.

How much time does Operation: METEORITE add?

The three Operation: METEORITE Bonus Missions add roughly two to three hours. They are not short cutscenes or side rooms. Each mission has its own combat route, three collectible Skulls and one Terminal.

Halo Studios recommends finishing the main ring story before playing the prequel, even though Operation: METEORITE takes place one year earlier. Following that order also gives you a clean way to measure the extra time: finish The Maw, then treat the three Bonus Missions as a separate evening of play.

How long do all Skulls, Terminals and achievements take?

Every mission contains three hidden Skulls and one Terminal. That makes 39 collectible Skull locations and 13 Terminal locations across the campaign. Collecting them while following a route is faster than searching every branch without one, but several still require detours or a mission replay.

Plan for at least 20 hours if your goal is the story plus broad collectible cleanup. Use the 39 Skull location guide and 13 Terminal location guide to keep repeat runs focused.

A true all-achievement run is harder to estimate. The 58 achievements include difficulty clears, mission challenges, co-op conditions and MYTHIC LASO. LASO alone can add a large number of retries, so the early 20-hour completionist estimates should not be treated as a promise for Platinum or 1000 Gamerscore.

What changes your completion time?

Difficulty has the largest direct effect. Heroic and Legendary increase the pressure in long encounters, while a failed LASO room can cost much more time than a normal checkpoint retry.

Route knowledge matters almost as much. Returning players already know the broad layout of levels such as The Library and Two Betrayals, but Campaign Evolved changes some spaces and combat pacing. Sprint and usable vehicles can save travel time, while the expanded fights in the Bonus Missions can add it back.

Collecting during the first run also changes the total. Each detour is small, but there are 52 mission collectibles across the game. If you only want the story, stay on the main route and return through mission select later. If you want achievements, collecting Skulls and Terminals on the first clear avoids another full sweep of all 13 missions.

Co-op does not guarantee a shorter run. Four players can clear combat quickly, but regrouping, revives and collectible detours can slow the pace. Check the co-op rules before planning a shared completion run.

Is Campaign Evolved longer than Halo: Combat Evolved?

Yes, in content. The remake retains the ten-mission campaign and adds three full Bonus Missions. It also expands collectible hunting and adds achievement routes built around Campaign Remix and LASO.

It is not useful to add a fixed number to the original game's community average, though. Campaign Evolved changes movement, vehicles, weapons, enemy groups and parts of the level layout. Current playthrough evidence puts all 13 missions at about 10 to 14 hours.

Are these official playtime numbers?

No. Halo Studios has confirmed the 13 missions and collectible counts, but it has not published an official average completion time. The ranges above combine current-version media playthroughs with the game's confirmed structure.

The 10 to 14-hour range is the best supported answer during the review period. Full achievement and LASO times need a larger set of completed runs before they can be narrowed honestly.
